STEPHENVILLE - Services for Jesse Maurice Sexton, 90, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Brendan's Catholic Church with Father Philip McNamara officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. A Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Lacy Funeral Home.

Jesse was born in Whitehall, New York to Jesse M. and Stephanie Sexton. He married Bettye Louise Walker on January 18, 1946, in Stephenville, Texas. She preceded him in death on Feb. 23, 2012. He was a founding member of St. Brendan's Catholic Church, a former member of the Stephenville City Council, a troop leader for the Boy Scouts where he received the Silver Beaver Award and the Order of the Arrow, a member of the Kiwanis, a WWII Army veteran, and the Commander of the VFW in Granbury.

Survivors include sons, David Sexton and wife, Sue, of Stephenville, and Mike Sexton and wife, Dianna, of Watauga; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Bill Sexton.
