Arthur Cole, 85, who had been making his home with his children here and at Neenah since the death of his wife about 14 years ago, died at 1:30 PM Friday at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Vanderhoof, in the town of Sherman. Death resulted from a heart attack suffered several days ago.
The body will lie in state at the Swartout Funeral Home in Spencer until either Monday or Tuesday, when it will be taken to Neenah for funeral and burial services.
Mr. Cole born in Rockford, Illinois, July 18, 1864 and was married in 1887 to Hattie Hercher in the town of Fremont, Clark County.
The Coles lived in the near Spencer until 1916, when they went to Neenah, where Mrs. Cole died.
Survivors are 2 sons, Arthur Gordon and Earl Cole, both of Neenah, and Mrs. Ben (Myra) Vanderhoof, Unity; 22 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild. Two daughters are dead.
