Robert served as a Technician Fifth Grade, U.S. Army during World War II.

He resided in Nunda, Livingston County, New York prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on February 17, 1943 in Rochester, New York. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed in the foundry occupation and also as Married.

Robert was killed on the U.S.S. Serpens, AK-97, when it was lost due to an explosion while loading depth charges, while anchored off Guadalcanal, Solomon Islands during the war.
