Died as a result of a horse riding accident.

John Ray Crain [sic]
John Ray CRAIN, 15-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. O. J. CRAIN of Waka, was killed Tuesday afternoon after being dragged by a horse he was attempting to rope in a pasture at the Crain home south of Waka.
The boy was brought to Perryton by a Boxwell Bros. ambulance, but was pronounced dead on arrival at the Sanford Hospital at 6 p. m. Tuesday.
His family had found him fatally injured around 5 o'clock in the pasture near the farm home. He had gone to the pasture to rope a horse and had somehow become entangled in the rope, with the horse dragging him over the pasture.
He was a student in Spearman high school and a member of the Waka Brethren church. The CRAIN family came to Waka about eight years ago from Goltry, Okla.
Survivors include his parents; two brothers, Karon [sic--Karen his sister] and Glen Dale [sic--his only brother]; two sisters Mary Alice of Waka and Mrs. Reta [sic] PETTIGREW of Levelland.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Friday afternoon in the Waka Church of the Brethren.
