MRS. PEARL GILLESPIE
Mrs. Pearl Gillespie departed this life at her home south of Chariton early Saturday morning, January 20th, 1917, at the age of 35 years, 8 months and 20 days, after a brief illness. Funeral services, which were largely attended, were held at the United Presbyterian church on Sabbath afternoon, January 21st at 2:30 o'clock, her pastor, Rev. Wm. M. Story, officiating. Interment was made in the Chariton cemetery.
Pearl Jamison was born in Bigfoot, Indiana, on May 1st, 1881. With her parents she came to Chariton, Iowa, in 1890, at the age of 9 years. She was married October 8th, 1899, to A. H. Gillespie. To them were born three children, Anna A.; James T., and Velma M. The first child, Anna A., died in infancy.
Mrs. Gillespie was a member of the United Presbyterian church in Chariton, and highly esteemed by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed by her large circle of friends, as she was always cheerful and pleasant to meet. She maintained her faith in her blessed Master until her departure.

To find in Heaven that rest, which earth could not bestow.
For in the presence of God is fullness of joy
And at His right hand are pleasures evermore."
