Robert S. Archambault, 89, of Clare, died Friday, July 27, in the Clare Nursing Home.
He was born on January 4, 1895 in Copemish, Michigan the son of Robert and Asabelle (Baker) Archambault.
He married the former Emily Fern House on July 8, 1927 in Vernon Twp.
Mr. Archambault was a former member of the Clare City Council and a former mayor for two terms. He was a former Clare Fire Chief and was a member of the Clare Oddfellow Lodge #333, the Rotary Club and the American Legion of Grayling. He attended the Clare Congregational United Church in Christ.
He is survived by his wife Emily Fern, 3 daughters, Mrs. Cliff (Ester) Skyring of Clare, Mrs. Norris (Mary Lou) Phillips of Clare and Mrs, Ed (Helen) Pudvay of Midland; 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; a brother John of Cadillac. He was predeceased by 2 brothers Michael and Jennings; and 2 sisters Althea and Katheryn.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 30, at 2:00 p.m. in the Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home with Rev, Charles Hastie officiating. Burial was in Cherry Grove Cemetery in Clare. Clare Sentinel,1 August 1984
