Lillian A. Lovaasen, 93, of Moorhead, died Sunday, November 8, 2009, in Innovis Health Systems, Fargo, ND.

Lillian Rud was born on December 26, 1915 in Williams County, ND to Nils and Josephine (Seim) Rud. When Lillian was 3, Josephine died, and she was raised by her grandparents, Kristian and Anna Seim. She grew up in Walsh County, ND, where she attended country school. She later attended Bible School in Fergus Falls and LBI in Minneapolis. On June 5, 1939 she married Alvin Lovaasen in Cavalier County, ND, and together they had two daughters. They made their home in Park River, ND, where Lillian was a homemaker, a wonderful cook and hostess. She worked at the Bakery and Cleaners in Park River before starting her career as a caregiver at Grafton State School. Alvin died in 1978, and Lillian later moved to Trollwood Village, Fargo, ND in 1996. In 2002 she moved into Eventide Catered Living. Lillian loved to cook lefse and participate in activities at Eventide.

She is survived by two daughters, Clara Jean (Paul) Anderson, Moorhead, MN and Dianne (Dave) Judd, Bayfield, WI; a half-brother, Kjell (Ragnhild) Rud, Gjerdrum, Norway; three half-sisters, Nora (Odvar) Oserud, Gjerdrum, Norway, Rigmor (Odd) Nordengen, Gjerdrum, Norway, and Esther (Arne) Bjorknes, Grimstad, Norway; two grandchildren, Matthew (Laura) Judd, Salt Lake City, UT and Susan Judd, Minneapolis, MN; one great-grandson, Micah David Judd; and special "adopted" family, Wayne, Elin, Anne Kristine, Jon and Tina Nygard.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Nils and Josephine Rud; husband, Alvin; brother, Henry Rud, Tioga, ND; half-sister, Karen Hammer, Gjerdrum, Norway and granddaughter, Gretchen Anderson.

Funeral Service: Thursday, November 12, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. in Bottolfson Chapel in Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, MN, with visitation one hour prior to service.

Funeral Service: Friday, November 13, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. in Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Park River, ND, with visitation one hour prior to service.

Interment: Golden Church Cemetery, rural Park River, ND.

Memorials are preferred to Eventide Lutheran Home, Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Park River, Park River Bible Camp, or a charity of your choice.
