He had an interesting life. He enlisted for the Civil War two times, once in Troy and the other in Hancock, MA. He then mustered out to Fort Lyon, VA. He was a Private in the 34th Mass Regiment, "K" Company. He died at the hospital in Fort Lyon from Typhoid Fever. He was 18 years, 8 months and 8 days old. I have many sources to back up this information. I also have a photo of the gravestone. The government provided his headstone. It came from the VT Marble Co. quarries in Proctor, VT.
