G. W. Hartman Dies; Had Stroke Last Thursday

George W. Hartman, 72, 1402 West Breslin street, Urbana, died at 5:40 a.m. Monday at the Burnham City hospital. Death was due to complications following a stroke suffered Thursday morning.
Mr. Hartman has been a resident of Champaign-Urbana for many years. He was born June 22, 1866, at Newport, Ind. He leaves five children by his first wife, who died many years ago. They are: Mrs. Mary Barr of Peru, Ind.; Ralph R. Hartman, Los Angeles, Calif.; Arthur C. Hartman, Chicago; Ray R. Hartman, Champaign, and Mrs. Lora Morris, Champaign.
He was married to Mrs. Elizabeth James Nov. 13, 1913, who he leaves. He also leaves a step-daughter, Mrs. Pearl Peters of Marseilles, Ind.; one half-sister, Mrs. Vol Gleason, Champaign; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Mr. Hartman was employed by the Illinois-Iowa Power company and was a member of the University Place Christian church. The body is at the Mittendorf chapel but funeral services are incomplete, awaiting the arrival of the son from California.
