VETERAN OF THE KOREAN WAR~OBITUARY OF WALTER D. BASS

GRUVER -- Services for Walter D. BASS, 56, will be at 3:00 p.m. today in the First Baptist Church in Gruver.

The Rev. Larry Miller, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Gruver Cemetery under the direction of Ed Brown & Sons Funeral Directors.

Mr. BASS died Thursday. He was a pipeline gauger for Diamond Shamrock. He was born in Garden City, Kansas, and had been a resident of Gruver for 22 years.

He was a veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Bobbie; three daughters, Arlis GARRETT of Lubbock, Anita NOLAND of Fritch, and Karla TeBEEST of Gruver; four brothers, Leroy BASS of Felt, Oklahoma, Sam BASS of Dumas, Dale BASS of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and Herb BASS of Farmington, New Mexico; three sisters, Mrs. Norma GROVES of Compton, California, Gladys OTTINGER of Boise City, Oklahoma, and Doris SMITH of Fayetteville, Arkansas; his mother, Mrs. M. E. BASS of Boise City, Oklahoma; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Doug REED, Jerry MILLS, Don HARTGRANFT, Van BRADFORD, Jerry OVERBEY, John HANNON, Larry SPENCE and Veda CHISUM.
