R. ARCHAMBAULT DIES AT AGE 97

Robert Stephen Saxby Archambault was born April 24, 1863 in Hastings county, Ontario, Canada and passed away April 8, 1960 at Tarpon'Springs, Florida.

He was the youngest child of Antoine and Caroline Archambault and at the age of nine moved with his parents to Pine Run, later settling in Vernon township.

On July 4, 1886 he was united in marriage to Isabell Baker of Vernon, who preceded him in death March 10, 1939. To this union was born seven children Michael of Detroit, John of Cadillac, Derwin who passed away at the age of one year, Robert Jr. of Clare, Jennings of Florida Althea Bell Hamilton who passed away in August 1944 and Catherine Mitchell of Marquette. He leaves 26 grandchildren, 68 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In his early life he worked in several mills and had a grocery store at Copemish. In 1895 the family moved to Vernon township and started farming on the farm homesteaded, by Mrs. Archambault’s parents. Since the death of his wife he has made his. home with several of his children. He enjoyed hunting and fishing trips and many trips traveling.

Services were held Tuesday afternoon April 12 at 2:30 from the Thurston Funeral Home with Rev. L. J. Nevins officiating and interment in Cherry Grove cemetery.

Attending the funeral from out of towns were relatives and friends from Bay City, Detroit, Saginaw, Mt. Morris, Lansing, Mt. Pleasant, Cadillac and Harrh son. Clare Sentinel dated 21 April 1960
