Sylvester Norton was the oldest son of Zebulon and his first wife, Hannah Gibbs.He married Betsey Safford the dau. of Daniel and Betsey Warren Safford, b. Jan. 21, 1810. They made their home at Gibbs Mills on the place later known as the Lewis Riggs place, where he died Dec. 21, 1857. They are both buried at the Gibbs Yard.
