French Culinary Figure. He was a great chef, known as "Le Roi Des Chefs et let Chef Des Rois" (The King of Chefs and the Chef of Kings). The French Foreign Minister, Talleyrand, loaned him out to the crowned heads of Europe and he, in effect, was a spy who reported back on what he heard.
