FUNERAL
J. O. (Oscar) Cable, 76, dies
J. O. (Oscar) Cable, 76, former resident of Raleigh, but late of Harrisburg, was found dead at his residence at 1004 South Land Street, Wednesday afternoon.
He was the son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Cable. He was a member of the Dorrisville Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, the former Lillie Thomas; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Dorothy) Mings, Raleigh; three grandchildren, Mrs. Paul (Kay) Hauser, Raleigh, James Mings, Bloomington and Wayne Tate , Carbondale; three great-grandchildren and two sisters; Mrs. Murray (Pearl) Stinson, Eldorado, and Miss Ada Cable, Harrisburg.
A daughter, Mrs. Cecil (Cathryn) Tate and granddaughter, Phyllis Tate preceded him in death on March 13 of this year as a result of an automobile accident.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Courtney Sloan Funeral Home In Galatis. The Rev. Cloid Wesley of Eldorado and Rev. Ernest Ammon of Raleigh will officiate. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery at Raleigh.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
