Allie Mae Risinger
Allie Mae Risinger, 97, of Altus, passed away Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.

Allie was born Sept. 20, 1912, to Joe and Therron (Burrus) Madden on the farm where her grandparents settled in the Hess community in 1889. She married Lee Owen "Doc" Risinger Oct. 10, 1927, in Vernon, Texas.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Altus since 1988 and prior to that, she was a member of the Hess Baptist Church for many years. She was involved in all phases of church activities including teaching Sunday School more than 50 years, missionary studies, and the Prayer Ministry. She also enjoyed her involvement in the Oklahoma Historical Society. She was an avid member of the Hess Quilting Club and was always ready to be of help to others.

Allie Mae cherished her family and took great pride in each one.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, who died Aug. 20, 1987; three sisters, "Little Willie" Madden, Ida Bell Boyles and her husband George, and Leta Jo Morrison;one brother, Paris "Son" Madden and his wife Elouise; two nieces, Janie Hall and her husband Dean, and Betty Sue Weaver; and one nephew, Donald Joe Walker.

She is survived by her two sons, Johnnie Lee Risinger and wife Peggy of Altus, and Tony B. Risinger and his wife Mildred of Wichita Falls, Texas; her grandchildren, Kris Terry and husband Tim, Mark Risinger and wife Teresa, Rick Risinger and wife Pam, Wesley Risinger and wife Robyn, Marilyn O'Neil, Kelly Risinger and wife Edurne, and Tamra Spradlin; her great-grandchildren, Crystal Leybas and husband Ian, Katy Sullivan and husband Jason, Nikoll Livaccari and husband James, Jane Terry, Ryan Terry, Casey Risinger, Ashley Risinger, Sydney Risinger, Owen Risinger, and Patxi (Patch-e) Risinger; six great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends.

Rather than floral remembrances, the family is requesting contributions to the First Baptist Church Elevator Fund, 300 North Main, Altus, OK 73521, or the charity of one's choice.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Funeral aervices will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Altus. Interment will follow at the Hess Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
