Russell is buried in the Smith-Runner Cemetery (Warren County) and Malinda never remarried. Alone, she raised these six children ranging in ages from infancy to fifteen years.
In her senior years, the 1870 census shows her living in the household of her son Bedford Jones, and his wife Mary.
