Text: First allow me to explain my interest: I am a descendent of John Walker born 1748 and Urcilla Covington. They were married in 1773 in Guilford County North Carolina.

They settled in present day near Cleveland/Rutherford County line where they resided until their deaths.

They are buried near New House NC in a family plot locatred on their original 640 acre plantation.

Now my question: Most people have John Walkers birth date as 1748 and his birthplace as Dan River Area, in Pennsylnvania County near present day Danville, Virginia.

His will, made shortly before his death and recorded in Rutherford County Will Book C, makes bequests as follows: "To my son, James Walker, the tract of land whereon he now lives, containing 20 acres adjoining lands of David Beam, and my other lands; my beloved wife, Urcilla Walker to be possessed with the whole of my estate both real and personal during her natural lifetime or widowhood, and at her decease or marriage, the whole of my estate to be sold and the money arriving therefrom to be equally divided among my children herein names, to wit: Thomas Walker, John Walker Jr., William Walker, Elijah Walker, James Walker, Joel Walker, Urcilla Dicus, and Susanna Walker - the rest of my children not to share any part of the above estate."
