He was born May 27, 1921 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Olaf Hansen and Axelina Schmidt Hansen.
He attended Granite High School. He was a veteran of World War II. He married Virginia Robbins on January 16, 1946 in the Salt Lake Temple. His family was his most prized possession, and we all knew it. As his sons grew, he attended all their school, sports, scouting, and hunting activities.
Later, as grandchildren came, he was very involved in their lives. He loved Virginia and all the time they spent traveling and being together. He worked at the Salt Lake Hardware for over twenty years, and later at Stewart Warner Alemite, and C&J Repair. He was a hard worker and a valuable employee.
He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Dena, Craig (Linda), Ron (Terri), Doug (Abi), Gordon (Ronda); nineteen grandchildren; and twenty-two great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife Virginia, son Rob, granddaughter Heather, and great-grandson Calvin.
