Frank Straten, 73, Dies; Rites Held Sunday

Frank B. Straten, 73, of Leroy, died Friday night in a Waco nursing home.

Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in Kotch Funeral Home Chapel. Requiem mass was celebrated at 3 p.m. Sunday at St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Tours with Rev. John Malinowski as celebrant. Burial was in St. Martin’s Cemetery.

Mr. Straten was born in Leroy where he had spent his life. He was a retired farmer and a member of St. Martin’s Catholic Church of Tours.

He married Hattie Schorn Jan. 7, 1925, at Tours.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Alphonse Straten of 502 East Crest, Daniel Straten of Elm Mott, Urban Straten of Arlington and Emanuel Straten of Pittsburgh, Pa.; one daughter, Mrs. James (Angeline) Debbendener of Leroy; one brother, Anton Straten of West; four sisters, Mrs. Louis (Annie) Dulock of Tours, Mrs. John (Clara) Roessler of West, Mrs. Ben (Bertha) Roessler of Westphalia and Mrs. Frank (Mary) Weinberger of Dallas; and nine grandchildren.
