Note: Per Osceola newspapers, Dr. Stewart went to Osceola each year for three years trying to finalize his divorce from Delilah, his first wife, in order to marry Mary. Lore has it that Mary's father sold Mary to Dr. Stewart for 40 acres of land. She was a teenager and Dr. Stewart was disabled and 30 yrs her senior.*

Charles died as a result of a horse and buggy accident in 1886.
