Nazi leader. Lammers went to law school and became a judge, later serving in World War I. He joined the nazi party and rose to the rank of SS-Obergruppenführer, serving as Reichsminister and head of the Reichskanzlei (Chancellery), one of the most powerful positions in the Third Reich. In spite of his high rank, Hitler had Lammers arrested and condemned to death during the final days of World War II, and his wife and daughter committed suicide when they learned this. Lammers survived, and when he died he was buried with his wife and daughter in Berchtesgaden.
