Funeral service for Joseph Nelson 76, 428 West Second south, Brigham City, who died Tuesday night of a heart allment, will be held Saturday at 1 O'clockin the afternoon in the Brigham City Second Ward chapel bvishop Glen Knudsen offuicatting.
He was born October 28, 1873, in Mantua, a son of Hans and Karen Hansen Nelson. While he was a boy, he moved with his family to Mink Creek, Idaho.
He married Martha Torritt Cutler July 20, 1907 at St. Anthony, Idaho. They made their home at Ashlon and he came to Brigham city 16 Years ago, where he has resided since. He was an elder in the Brighem City Second Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day saints. He had served as a ward teacher for several years.
Until he retired recently, he was a farmer.
Survivors include his widow, two sons and one daughter: Devere Nelson, Mrs. Edna Tingey, Brigham City; Delbert Nelson, Clearfield; also the following stepchildren: Roy Cutler, Ogden; Mrs. Arletta Calkins, Seattle, Washington, and Mrs. Sarah Liong, Anacartes, Washington; 13 gradchildren and three great-grandchildren; five brothers and three sisters: J.P. Nelson and Mrs. Hannah Osburne, Brigham City; Henery Helson, Mrs. Nettie Farnsworth, Grace ,Idaho; Mrs. Elva Christensen, Anthony Nelson, Wendell, Idaho; Nephi Nelson, Mink Creek, Idaho; Daniel Nelson, Lava hot Springs, Idaho.
Burial will be in the Brigham City cemetery.
