Elizabeth Jane Wilson married Tipton Cox (1824-1880) in Monroe County, Tennessee April 10, 1849. The family moved to Montgomery County, Illinois about 1852. Eliza died giving birth to daughter Eliza Jane in 1868. In the 1870 Montgomery County, Illinois Census Tipton is age 45, with real estate valued at $10,000 and $1300 in personal property. The children are: John age 19, Francis age 16, Jane age 13, Maggie age 11, Tipton age 8, George age 6, Edward age 3 and E. Jane age 6 months.

George Washington Wilson and wife Jane Cox Wilson, brother and sister to Eliza and Tipton, live next door with their children Latetia age 19, Josephine age 15 and Jeremiah age 11.

After Tipton's death in 1880, George age 16, and little Eliza age 10, are at the home of George Washington and Jane Cox Wilson, their double aunt and uncle. Tipton age 18, and his brother Ed age 13, are living with their sister Jane age 22 and her husband Everett Hossington (sp?). The boys are working as farm hands.

Little Eliza married C.J. Davis. Her uncle George lived with her family after the death of his wife Jane in 1900, until he passed away in 1912.
