Thelma Rose Nicholas Seiler, 97, of Urbana, died Saturday October 30, 2004, at Champaign, County Nursing Home in Urbana.
Burial in Haven Hill cemetery in Olney.
Mrs. Seiler was born on Nov. 14, 1906, in Parkersburg, the daughter of Howard Austin and Mary Anna (Wilson) Nicholas. She married Frank Seiler on Dec. 18, 1932 in Olney. He preceded her in death on Aug. 20, 1996.
She graduated from Olney Township High School in 1926 and attended Utterback Business College in Olney. She was employed for a short time in Mattoon. She returned to Olney and was employed for six years as a secretary to the Richland County Farm Advisor. After her marriage, she moved to Urbana and was a homemaker.
Mrs. Seiler was a member of First United Methodist Church in Urbana. In 1966, she and her husband moved to Dundas, where she was a member of First United Metodist Church in Olney and volunteered for the Olney Senior Citizens. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, and quilting.
Mrs. Seiler is survived by a son Jerry Lee Seiler of Knoxville, TN; a daughter, Shirley Ann Gordon of Urbana; a sister, Marjorie Barche of Lafayette, IN; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three sisters and two brothers.
