Hubert M. Archer was born March 23, 1910, in Shea, Okla., and died February 6, 1984 at his residence in Holland at the age of 73. He was a retired farmer.
The son of the late Thorn D. Archer and Eva Nona Boyd Archer, he was united in marriage to Jerline Hensley in Caruthersville on January 27, 1934. They recently celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary.
One son, Mervin, preceded him in death.
Mr. Archer leaves his wife, Mrs. Jerline Archer of Holland; three sons: Claude Archer of Laredo, Texas, James Archer of Holland, Larry Archer of Searcy, Ark.; one daughter: Mrs. Brenda Pierce of Holland; two brothers: Coy Archer of Doniphan, Mo., and Orvil Archer of Pocahontas, Ark.; three sisters: Mrs. Gladys Owens of East Prairie, Mo., Mrs. Lenora Dial of Jasper, Fla., and Mrs. Elsie Autry of Lenox, Tenn.; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were to have been held February 8 (yesterday) at 1:00 p.m. at the John W. German Funeral Home of Steele, with Rev. Charles Faught officiating.
Pallbearers were Ed Henley, Berry Hester, Gardner Norrid, Clell Waldrop, Hugh Samford, and Claude Samford.
Burial was in the Mount Zion Cemetery in Steele with the John w. German Funeral Home in charge.
