Farley R. Wright, 76, of Emporia, Kansas, died Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, in the emergency department at Newman Regional Health, Emporia, Kansas.

He was born Sept. 29, 1933, in Humboldt, Kansas, the son of Roscoe Carlson and Ruth (Weatherbie) Wright.

On June 4, 1955, he married Louise Feeney at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Humboldt, Kansas. She survives.

He was a field clerk for Cities Service Gas Company.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus in Emporia, KS. He had been an active participant in Bike Across Kansas since 1990.

Other survivors include a son, Ray, of Shawnee, KS; a daughter, Penni Bond, of Kansas City, KS; a brother, LeeRoy, of Cromwell, KY; a sister, Leah Mae Grennell, of Humboldt, KS; four grandchildren, Stephanie Wright and Benjamin Wright, of Shawnee, KS, Brittani Bond, of Emporia, KS, and Austin Bond, of Baldwin City, KS; and a great-grandchild.

Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Emporia, Kansas. The Rev. Rich Warsnak will be celebrant. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Emporia.

Memorials to Sacred Heart Catholic School, and Emporia Friends of the Zoo may be sent to Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, 605 State St., Emporia, KS 66801-2713, which is in charge of arrangements.
