John E. "Eddie" Gambill age 68 of Clay Township, passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2009. He retired from DAP in Dayton after 22 years of service. He was a member of the Church of the Transfiguration and was a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years: Carolyn (Carolus) Gambill, son: Eric Gambill of Clay Twp., daughter: Lara Gambill of Clay Twp., mother: Mabel (Noble) Gambill of Dayton, brother: Dennis Gambill of Dayton, sister and brother-in-law: Mary Ruth (Dave) Ridenour of Glenford, brother-in-law: Kenneth Carolus, sister-in-law: Patricia Compton, nieces, nephews, relatives and good friends.
He is preceded in death by his father: Luther Gambill.
John was a gentle soul who will be greatly missed. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 16, 2009 at the Church of the Transfiguration (972 S. Miami St., West Milton) with Father John MacQuarrie as celebrant. The family will receive friends on Monday, from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass at the church. Interment will be held privately at Royal Oak Memorial Gardens in Brookville. If lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton. The Kindred Funeral Home, Englewood is handling arrangements.
