John Stuart Burris Sr., 78, of Glendale, Ariz., formerly of Owensboro, died Saturday, Aug. 14, 1999, in Arizona. He was born in Rome and was a retired master sergeant in the Air Force. He worked for the state of Arizona as an agricultural inspector. Survivors include three sons, John Stuart Burris Jr. of Florence, Ariz., David Alan Burris of Peoria, Ariz., and Steve Anthony Burris of Fresno, Calif.; three daughters, Cheri Lynn Abbott of Glendale, Ariz., Sandra Ann Price of Show Low, Ariz., and Judy Carolyn Harris of Phoenix; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Virginia Clark of Owensboro, Mary Frances Ward and Shirley Martin, both of Elton. Services are at 9 a.m. today at Heritage Funeral Chapel in Peoria, Ariz.
