Joseph was the son of Henry Anthony Wright and Minerva Jane Melton. Joseph died on Nov. 5, 1928 from injuries sustained when an engine he was working on exploded.
On Sept.18, 1895 he married Lena Roberta Simpson. To this union was born three children Dessia Maud born 1896, Vista Lucille born 1897, and Nile Keith born 1905. Joseph was preceeded in death by his daughter Vista Lucille who died in 1909 at the age of twelve years on her way home from school of heart problems.
Joseph was laid to rest in the Eugene Cemetery.
