Mrs. Pugh-Baker Dies
Mrs. Mary Jane Baker-Pugh, born in 1855 in Washington county, Iowa, died last night at 9:30 p.m. at her home, 126 Hyde Street, she had lived here for about 10 months. She was born in 1855 in Washington county, Iowa, her maiden name having been Mary Jane Eagy. She came to Oregon about 1880 and resided in Linn county where she married the late William Henry Pugh. Later she married the late Samuel Charles Baker of Brownsville. She had been ill for the past month. Surviving Mrs. Baker are 18 grand children and the following children: Walter Pugh and Ida Powell of Pendleton. Dora Walker of Brownsville, Laura Yancey of Stevenson, Washington. Elma Huffman of Philomath, Oregon and Marion Pugh of Oakridge. Funeral services will be held from the Folsom chapel at 9:30 a.m. Friday, with A. F. Van Slyke, pastor of the Christian Church officiating.
