Vic Rolette was born in North Dakota and became an orphan at 2 years old. He and his brothers went to different children's homes, and didn't find each other until WWII (US Navy, US Army, and US Army Air Corp). Vic was handicapped with a clubfoot, and his other leg was severely twisted. The Mayo clinic set him right over the course of seven years, during which he was always with braces and crutches. He was 20 years old when WWII broke out, and served in the US Navy aboard the USS Tripoli and the USS Bogue. Both were flat top carriers used in sub hunts in the North Atlantic.
After the war, Vic served in Yakima decommissioning planes and became interested in car racing. He also met Lorraine Barnhouse, the love of his life. They married August 16, 1947.
Vic entered into a career in auto repair specializing in frame straightening and wheel alignment. In 1959 he opened his own business, Vic's Renton Frame that was a great source of pride in his life. He and Lorraine had four children who all reside in Washington State, and he is still greatly missed by his family.
