DEATH OF MRS. McWHORTER.
Mrs. Lorinda Mott, wife of our well known townsman, Lockwood S. McWhorter, died at 8 o’clock this morning from exhaustion following the grip, in her 69th year. The funeral will be held at 2 o’clock Thursday afternoon from the family residence No. 92 North Cayuga street.
Mrs. McWhorter was the daughter of Abram and Margaret Mott, who settled in Caroline many years ago, and who with William Mott were the founders of Mottville, now Brookton. Mrs. Mott and her parents moved to Ithaca in 1837 and 1848 she was married to Mr. McWhorter, their entire wedded life being passed on the premises occupied by them at the time of Mrs. McWhorter’s death. Besides her husband Mrs. McWhorter leaves a son, Fred. She was the last member of her family. In the earlier years of her life Mrs. McWhorter attended the Baptist church, but later she was identified with the Episcopal church.
