Doty, Dale E. "Double D", age 66, of Kappel Street, New Martinsville, WV, died Saturday, November 7, 2009 at Wetzel County Hospital, New Martinsville, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born February 21, 1943 in New Martinsville.
He was a retired chemical operator at Bayer Chemical Company with 36 years of service; a member of the WV Bass Federation; a tournament director and charter member of Northern Mountaineer Bass Club; a member of the Paden Fork Christian Church; and a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles E. Doty; and a brother, Jim Doty.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Linda Coen Doty; a daughter, Kim (Donny) Doty-Arrick; a son, Steven (Rochelle) Doty; his mother, Edna M. Cecil Doty; two brothers, Floyd (Linda Hayes) Doty and Rick (Sondra) Doty, all of New Martinsville; three grandchildren, Lakyn N. Arrick, Zachary C. Arrick and M'Kayla L. Doty; several nieces and nephews, and his special pet, Mugsy E.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm and also on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 751 Third Street, New Martinsville, where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1:00pm with Rev. Dale Dudgeon and Rev. Cliff McLawhorn officiating.
Interment in Paden Memorial Gardens, Paden City, WV where the Sistersville Combined Honor Guard will conduct military graveside services.
