Mr. Brock was a former teacher and football coach at Oliver Springs Elementary School. He was in the wood products business for most of the remainder of his career.
He was the son of Allie and Hiram Brock. His mother lives in Hyden, Ky., and his father has since died. He was a graduate of Union College in Barbourville, Ky., and served with the U.S. Army for two years.
Mr. Brock was a member of First Baptist Church of Oliver Springs. In earlier years, he was an active member of the Oak Ridge Jaycees, and was always a strong supporter of the Boys Club of Oak Ridge, his family said.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Mary Louise "Mimi" Small Brock; a sister, Jonnie Watkins and her husband, Tommy, of Kentucky; three brothers, Hiram Brock Jr., Howard Brock and his wife, Martha, and Therlo Brock and his wife, Wilma, also all of Kentucky; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Hepler of Oliver Springs and Nancy Butcher of Madison, Wis.; and by three nieces, seven nephews, one grandniece and one grandnephew.
Paul Fox was considered a special friend.
A brother, Ronald Brock, died earlier.
The funeral will be held at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, in the chapel of Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 17, at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
The family requests that any memorials be in the form of donations to Med-Center Hospice, sent to the attention of the bereavement director, 183 Lafayette Drive, Oak Ridge, TN 37831.
