Burial will be in Moulton Memory Gardens. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.
Mr. Ligon died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2004, at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital. He was born Jan. 5, 1927, in Lawrence County to Abb and Effie Ligon. He was retired from 3M after 28 years of service. He was a cattle farmer. He was a World War II Navy veteran. Mr. Ligon was a little league baseball coach and a member of Wear Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Magdalene Ligon.
Survivors include three sons, Bobby Ligon of Moulton, David Ligon of Jasper and Norman Ligon of Moulton; one daughter, Frances Blankenship of Moulton; one brother, Clayborn Ligon of Moulton; one sister, Anna Jo Hood of Moulton; and three grandchildren, Lucas Blankenship and Chase Ligon, both of Moulton, and Lindsay Ligon of Jasper.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Ligon, Gary Ligon, Keith Ligon, Joe Keeton, Brian Hood, Deverl Lamon, Lucas Blankenship and David Armstrong.
Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Parker, Jackie Smith, Jimmy Mitchell, James Bobo, C.W. Gibson, Wayne Sutton, Billy Reed and Troy Hill.
