Paul was born on December 3, 1947 in Springfield, Missouri and passed away in his home with family on Tuesday November 10, 2009 from a brain tumor. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Brenda of 40 years. They were married August 26, 1966. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Anna; his sisters, Darlene Hilburn and Norma Tatum. He is survived by his children, son, Michael Hilburn; daughter and son in-law, Mariana and Antonio Almanza; grandchildren, Daniel Vanderpool and Breiana Almanza; sister, Arlene Hensley; brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Paula Hillburn, Tony and Belinda Hilburn; numerous aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends. He served in the Vietnam War honorably with a National Defense Service Medal and trained as a sharpshooter. He was a Shriner and during his time with the Shriners he was able to help two children enter the Shriners Hospital for medical attention that they desperately needed. He was retired from the City of Springfield- Sewer Maintenance Dept. You will be greatly missed by all! Special thanks to his mother-in-law, Mary Myers for all your help and also to the Hospice Compassus Team, R.N. Amber and Medical Aide Teresa. You two were wonderful. Funeral services will be held in Greenlawn Funeral Home North, 3506 N. National Springfield, Mo on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at 3 p.m, with burial to follow at Bellview Cemetery, north of Springfield, Mo.
