William A. Stalsworth, a department manager at Standard Knitting Mills for 44 years, died Monday in St. Mary's Hospital, just 6 months short of his 98th birthday.
Mr. Stalsworth, whose home was on Millertown Pike, had been retired since 1945. He was a member of Gillespie Avenue Baptist Church.
Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Kathleen P. Stalsworth; three sons, J. Walter, Stalsworth of Dallas, Texas, William Bert and Jack Stalsworth of Knoxville; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday from McCarty Mortuary Chapel, with interment in Highland Memorial Cemetery.
