Carl Oliver Vincent Bergstrom, 92, of North Platte, passed away April 20, 2011, at North Platte Care Center . He was born July 7, 1918, in Wild Horse Valley North of Brady to Carl and Carrie Bergstrom. He attended grade school at Wickstrom Country School and later attended high school at Brady. Vincent attended Svea-Dal Evangelical Convenant Church being baptized and confirmed there.

On July 12, 1949, he married Hazel Ada Burke in the United Methodist Church in Beatrice. Vincent farmed and ranched in Wild Horse Valley North of Brady. He enjoyed raising livestock especially registered quarter horses. He received the Nebraska Pioneer Farm Award. Vincent pursued his interest in livestock by taking veterinary classes to further his education. He was a 4-H leader for the Wild Horse Valley 4-H Club. He later obtained his real estate broker and auctioneer licenses which led to owning Bergstrom Realty and Auction.

Survivors include three nephews, Gaylen Bergstrom, Gary (Brenda) Bergstrom, all of Brady, and Gerald (Brenna) Bergstrom of Kearney; all other nieces and nephews include Kenneth Pheasant, Jackie Brammeier, Elaine Luse, Kay Ono, Joyce Schartzer and Genieve Allington; great-nieces, Kassie and McKenzie Bergstrom; and a great-nephew, Grant Bergstrom.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Hazel; brother Kenneth; and sister-in-law, Lucille Bergstrom.

Memorials may be made to Svea-Dal Evangelical Covenant Church , Great Plains Home Health and Hospice, or the donor's choice. Condolences may be made at www.adamsswanson.com.

Services will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, April 23rd at the Svea-Dal Evangelical Covenant Church North of Brady with the Reverend Ken Sawyer officiating. Burial will be 3:00 P.M., Monday, April 25th at the Svea-Dal Cemetery . Visitation will be today from noon to 9:00 P.M. at Adams and Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
