Pauline L. Green, 76, of Ottawa, Kansas, died on Monday, June 9, 2008, at Ransom Memorial Hospital in Ottawa, Kansas.

She was the daughter of Lewis and Emma (Biehler) Fischer. She was born on September 1, 1931, in Centropolis, Kansas.

Pauline was a lifelong Franklin County resident, living in Centropolis, moving to the Mud Creek Community and, in 1938, to the Princeton communities of Tawney and Ohio City. In 1955, she moved to the Tauy Community, then to New Union and into Ottawa in 1979.

Pauline graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1949.

Following high school, Pauline worked at Bennett's Creamery until April of 1952 and later worked fourteen years in the kitchen at the Franklin County sale barn.

Pauline was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Sacred Heart Guild, serving many years as secretary and treasurer, the Widows group of the church, and member of the Fairmount Birthday Club, serving as secretary and treasurer, until the club disbanded.

On September 1, 1951, Pauline was united in marriage with Maurice M. "Bud" Green in Ottawa. He preceded her in death on October 6, 1984.

Survivors include: sons: Leland Green and wife, Janet, Wellsville, KS., Virgil Green and wife, Gerlyn, Wellsville, Ks., Gayle Green of Ottawa, KS.; daughters: Reba Mackler and husband, David, Ottawa, KS.,Rebecca Frieden and husband, Mark, Pomona, KS., brother; Donald Fischer and wife, Carol, Ottawa, KS.; grandsons: Aaron Green, Chad Green, Lance Green, Russell Green, Brian Green, Mitchell Green, Adam Frieden, Abe Frieden, Jacob Mackler, granddaughters: Alissa Frieden, Jamie Miller, Laura Green, great-grandsons: Christopher Green and Colby Green, Gunner Miller: great-granddaughters, Callie Green, Cheyanne Miller and Anyssa Mays. Brother-in-law Ralph Green and wife, Ruby, Pomona, KS, brother-in-law Donald R. Schamle of Wellsville, KS.

She was preceded in death her parents, Lewis & Emma (Biehler) Fischer, husband, Maurice Monroe "Bud" Green, son, Phillip Green, brother, Robert Fischer and sister, Phyllis Schamle.

A funeral mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 13, 2008.

Friends may pay their respects to Mrs. Green at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 9 a.m. Thursday, where a Rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m. by a visitation from 1 to 8 p.m.

Burial will be in the St. John's Cemetery, Homewood.
