John Monke, 75, Bloomington, passed away Tuesday (Nov. 10, 2009) at his home.
He was born Aug. 5, 1934 in Litchfield, Il. to Alvin J. and Alma M. Lueker Monke. He married Jan Marbry on May 21, 1960, at Robinson. She survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Jean (Steve) Sweeney, Champaign; Sue (Tony) Griffin, Hinsdale and Kathy Monke, Chicago; five grandsons, Andrew and Jacob Sweeney, and Tom, Jack and Joe Griffin; two sisters, Mary Ellen (Mark) Rudsenske, Bloomington, Minnesota and Lois (Roy) Niemann, Litchfield and one brother, Robert (Carole) Monke, Fresno, California.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He served in the U.S. Army.
