Melvin H. Stiegert, 84 of Wagner

Memorial Services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Friday, April 17, 2009 at St. John Lutheran Church in Wagner, with Inurnment at the Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, SD.

Melvin H. Stiegert, son of Charles and Margaret (Cavier) Stiegert was born June 13, 1924 at Bonesteel, SD. He died Thursday, March 12, 2009 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Wagner. Melvin attained the age of 84 years, eight months and 28 days.

Melvin graduated from Ravinia High School. He served in the United States Army from April 13, 1945 to November 28, 1946. Melvin farmed on his own for 12 years and then worked for farmers in the area. He entered the Wagner Good Samaritan Society on November 17, 2004.

Melvin was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and American Legion Greer Post #11 in Wagner.

Melvin will be remembered for his enjoyment of dancing, playing cards and traveling.

Thankful for having shared his life are his brother Don of Fremont, NE, cousins and friends.

Melvin was preceded in death by his parents.
