Thomas Ross Hatch, 78, of 609 35th St. SE, died Monday, Feb. 1, 1999, in Crestview Acres Care Center, Marion, following a lengthy illness. Services: 10 a.m. Friday, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Bishop Paul Johnson and Counselor Harry Foster will officiate. Entombment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home and after 9:30 a.m. Friday at the church.

Survivors include his wife, Beth; two daughters, Joyce Findlay and husband DeMoine of Canada and Wendy Foster and husband Harry of Cedar Rapids; three sons, James Thomas Hatch and wife Stephanie of St. Peter, Mo., Douglas Hatch and wife Debbie of Minneapolis and Morton William Hatch and wife Richie of Owasso, Okla.; a brother, Stewart of Calgary, Alberta; 28 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a brother.

Thomas was born July 4, 1920, in Lethbridge, Alberta, to Thomas Henry and Grace Woolf Hatch. He married Beth on April 9, 1942, in Alberta. He spent most of his life in the farm machinery business as service manager with J.I. Case Farm Machinery Co. from 1958 to 1984. He was very active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Tom was a well-loved father and grandfather, and will be missed by many friends as well as his family.
