Son of Mrs. Fanny Davidoff.

Irving served as a Hospital Apprentice First Class, USS Pinkney (APH-2), U.S. Navy during World War II.

He resided in Brooklyn, Kings County, New York prior to the war.

Irving was "Killed In Action" when the Pinkney, an evacuation transport ship, was hit by a Japanese kamikaze in Hagushi Bay off Okinawa during the war. He was awarded the Purple Heart.

Irving was one of 18 crew members who lost their lives during this attack. 16 patients on the Pinkney lost their lives as well.

He was originally interred overseas and was later repatriated here on June 27, 1950.
