SHELBYVILLE - Clarence S. Bartscht, 99, of Shelbyville passed away 2:04 a.m. Wednesday (Feb. 27, 1991) in Moweaqua Nursing Center. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with visitation 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery Shelbyville. Memorials: Shelby County Extension Foundation or Shelbyville Lions Club.

Mr. Bartscht was born in Shelby County on Nov. 17, 1891, son of Charles and Susan Slifer Bartscht. He was a retired farmer, member of First Christian Church, Shelbyville, and Shelbyville Lions Club. He married Cora Lilly on Feb. 17, 1915. She passed away on Sept. 28, 1978.

Surviving are his son, Charles of Shelbyville; daughters, Mary Helseth of Vero Beach, Fla.; Mrs. William (Ruth) Ballard of Muskogee, Okla.; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

Two sisters, one brother and one grandson preceded her in death.
