Mary was born in Gainsville, Florida, on May 28, 1926. She was the daughter of Samuel Willis Williams of Live Oak, Florida, and Esther E. Platt Williams of Dowling Park, Florida.
While living in Tampa, Florida, she met and married Leroy Oliver of Lake Arthur, March 3, 1943. They moved back to Lake Arthur in 1945 where Mary lived until moving to Golden Age of Welsh in 2006.
Mary was a housewife who loved working in her community. She was a member of the Lake Arthur WomenÂ's Library Club, the V.F.W. Auxiliary, Methodist WomenÂ's Auxiliary, and a choir member of the Methodist Church and the Coalition. She had been President and Vice President of the Lake Arthur School PTA. Mary loved to travel and took many tours across this country, and abroad.
Mary is survived by her two daughters, Patricia E. Oliver Trahan, and husband David James of Zwolle, Louisiana, Mary Susan Oliver Gagneaux, and husband James E. Jr. of Lake Arthur Lakeside, 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and one sister, Betty W. Pagett of Lake Placid, Florida.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 53 years, Leroy Oliver, brothers, Charles Williams of Tampa, Florida, Leon Williams of Largo, Florida, Paul Williams of Sarasota, Florida, sisters, Eunice W. Dious of Tampa, Florida, and Martha Sokinas of Tampa, Florida.
