In June 1900 Mary Edna was managing an apartment house at 1018 Walnut Street in Philadelphia, PA. By April 1910 she was residing with her son Martin P. Bell, Jr. and his wife at 1739 North Twenty-Second Street in Philadelphia.

• O. L. [Orlin Leslie] Leach, a former resident of this town is expected here this week, with the body of his sister, Mrs. Edna Bell, who died recently in Philadelphia, PA, for internment in the family lot. She was the widow of a former pastor of the Methodist church and was greatly esteemed by all during the time she made this village her home.

• The funeral of Mrs. Mary E. Bell, widow of Rev. M. P. Bell, who for several years was pastor of the Methodist church in this village, will be held at the Methodist church at 10 o'clock Thursday morning.
While buried at her husband's prominent gravesite, no one bothered to inscribe her particulars on her husband's monument or add a footstone for her.
Mary Edna (Leach) Bell was a 7th generation paternal descendant of Giles and Ann (Noaks) Leach of Bridgewater in the Plymouth Colony, now Bridgewater, Plymouth County, MA, where Giles Leach was a proprietor in 1662. Mary Edna was the 6th generation maternal descendant of Angus (aka Ananias) and Margaret McAllister from county Antrim, Ireland, who by 1731 had settled at Londonderry, NH.
