Banks
Mrs[.] Susan Jane Banks, of Fountain Green died at her home on August 26, 1922, after an illness lasting more than a year, aged 78 years, 7 months and 26 days.
Deceased was born at Fannetsburg [sic], Penn., on December 21, 1848, and came to Illinois in 1855 and settled on a farm near Fountain Green. She was the daughter of James and Eliza McCullough Campbell.
On February 22, 1872, she was married to James C. Banks who preceded her in death.
The following children survive, Mrs. Carrie B. Ferris, Fountain Green, Ill[.]; Walter F. Banks, Crookston, Minn.; Mary E. Banks, Fountain Green, Ill.; Charles C., Harley J. and George W. Banks of Blandinsville, Ill.; Merle C. Banks, Colchester, Ill. One daughter, Mrs[.] Bessie B. Argenbright is deceased[.] One sister, Miss Carrie Campbell, resides at LaHarpe, Ill[.]
The deceased was a member of the Fountain Green Presbyterian church and was a woman of fine christian character[.] She was a true wife, a blessed mother and a good neighbor[.]
The funeral services were held on Monday afternoon at the home of deceased and was conducted by Rev[.] W. T. Rodgers of Macomb, Illinois.

A family record stated that Susan died on August 27, 1922. August 26 fell on a Saturday; the usual interval for burials was two days.
