Mrs. Mitts was married to her first husband, Joseph Keeseker, in Ohio in the year 1844. After nine years Mr. Keeseker died in 1853, leaving his wife and five children to mourn their loss. These children are as follows: Mrs. L. N. Dunlap and George Keeseker of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, Mrs. E. J. Waltman of Ohio, Mrs. Mary Snapps of Carlisle, Indiana and Joseph Keeseker of Columbus, Ohio, all of whom still live to survive their mother.
Mrs. Mitts was married to her second husband about the year 1858 of which union Mrs. Dora McBeth of Nebraska is the only surviving child.
Mrs. Mitts then came to Iowa about the year 1870, and after two years was married to James Mitts. She has survived all three of her husbands. Mrs. Mitts has twenty-four grandchildren.
