Inscription

In Memory of ANDREW BLACKWELL who departed this life February 5th, 1818, in the 68th year of his age.

In the struggle for Liberty he took an active part on the side of his Country and continued through life the friend of freedom and equal rights.

But ah, how transient is the life of man
His longest date is truly but a span
The joys of time are posting to decay
And soon its fairest scenes must fade away
Be wise then: oh ye sons of men be wise.
