John Kennedy Jr. was born 12 Oct 1847, in Kilmarnock, Ayr County, Scotland. His parents were John Kennedy Sr. & Elizabeth Black.

John & Hannah's home was in Argyle, very near Randolph, Rich, Utah. Some records show that he died at home in Argyle. Death certificate shows Randolph.

Obituary: Bishop John Kennedy, Jr. died at his home April 5, 1928. He was born in Kilmarnack, Ayshire Scotland, October 12, 1847 and came to America in the year 1869.
He was employed by the Union Pacific Railroad and by the Coal Mines in Almy, Wyoming.
In 1872 he was married to Miss Hannah Simpson in The Endowment House in Salt Lake City, Utah. He then came to Randolph, Utah and took up a ranch. Sixteen children were born to this union.
Bishop Kennedy was left a widower in 1902 and later married Annie Simpson April 4, 1907.
He was Bishop of the Argyle Ward for seventeen years. He was in the State Legislature for two years and was President of the Bank of Randolph at the time of his death. Bishop Kennedy was always an active church worker, being on the High Council for a number of years. He was willing to perform any duty asked of him by the ward and was active up until a few weeks previous to his death. Everyone will greatly miss Bishop Kennedy as he always had words of encouragement and good cheer for those whom he met.
He is survived by his wife and 14 children: John S., William, James, Joseph, Reay, Frank, and Clifford Kennedy of Randolph, George and Matthew Kennedy of Ogden and Andrew Kennedy of Pocatello, Idaho, Mrs. Earnest Corless and Mrs. William Johnson of Randolph, Mrs. Jack Richie of Ogden, and Mrs. Earnest Wall of Green River, Wyo. He is also survived by one brother and seven sisters and numerous other relatives.
Funeral Services were held in the Randolph Ward Tabernacle, Tuesday, April 10, 1928, conducted by Bishop Larson. The grave was dedicated by Bishop J. C. Gray. Interment was in the Randolph City Cemetery.
